What We Do — Our Work in Action
At Rwenzori Youth Empowerment Ark (RYEA), our identity is defined by action. We exist to translate youth potential into real skills, real opportunities, and real community impact across Fort Portal City, Kabarole District, and the wider Rwenzori Region.
Our programs are practical, inclusive, and youth-led — responding directly to the everyday challenges young people face while preparing them to lead, innovate, and thrive.
Skills Development & Digital Literacy
We equip young people with hands-on vocational, ICT, and digital skills that improve employability and support self-reliance. Through trainings, workshops, and practical labs, youth gain competencies aligned with today’s job market and emerging opportunities.
Youth Entrepreneurship & Economic Empowerment
RYEA supports youth-led enterprises through financial literacy training, business incubation, cooperative development, and access to markets. We help young people turn ideas into sustainable livelihoods.
Civic Engagement & Leadership Development
Through youth leadership hubs, mentorship programs, governance trainings, and civic dialogues, we prepare young people to participate meaningfully in leadership, decision-making, and community development.
Gender Equality & Girls’ Empowerment
We promote safe spaces and targeted programs for adolescent girls and young women, focusing on mentorship, SRHR education, menstrual hygiene awareness, and economic empowerment.
Climate Action & Agri-Innovation
RYEA engages youth in climate-smart agriculture, environmental conservation, and community greening initiatives that protect the Rwenzori ecosystem while creating green livelihoods.
Creative Arts, Sports & Talent Development
We nurture talents in music, arts, culture, and sports as pathways for expression, income generation, positive identity, and social cohesion.
Youth Mental Health & Life Skills
Through life skills training, resilience-building sessions, peer counselling, and wellness forums, we support the mental wellbeing and personal development of young people.
How We Are Led
RYEA is guided by accountable and youth-inclusive leadership structures:
Board of Directors (strategic oversight and governance)
Founder Director & CEO (overall vision and leadership)
Co-Directors (program leadership)
Program Officers, Field Coordinators, Volunteers, and Youth Ambassadors
